Tang Duo Ling

A small gathering at Anyuan Tower. A singer surnamed Huang beseeched for a lyric from the Daoist of Longzhou(Liu Guo). In attendance were Liu Fuzhi, Liu Qufei, Shi Minzhan, Zhou Jiazhong, Chen Mengcan, and Mengrong. It was the fifth day of the eighth month.

Reeds overspread the small island;

A shallow stream girds the cold sand.

After twenty years

  I pass by the Southern Tower again.

  How many days have passed since I tied my boat

  Beneath the willow tree!But Mid-Autumn Day nears.

  On broken rocks of Yellow Crane,

  Do my old friends still remain?

  The old land is drowned in sorrow new.

  Even if I can buy laurel wine for you

  And get afloat,

  Could our youth renew?

Colophon & Signature:

A poem by Liu Guo. Written by Wang Yunyun, Master of Shujuan Studio, on the 25th day of the third month in the year of Yisi.
